About CACW
The Creative Writing program is a four-year course of study designed to establish a supportive community of writers and to foster the artistic and intellectual growth of each writer in that community. Creative writing is a highly academic arts discipline, requiring strong critical and imaginative skills as well as a mastery of writing techniques. Thus, the curriculum emphasizes both reading and writing, with expectations becoming progressively more challenging within each level of study and from one level to the next. Creative writers are also editors and publishers. Book arts, emcompassing the technical aspects of publishing as well as the artistic elements of book as object of art, are incorporated into the four-year progression of study & creation.
